While teaching school full time, one of my favourite subjects was art.  Getting the children involved in the work of a particular artist and then producing work in that style was great fun, and the children found that they could achieve quite spectacular results.   They didn’t have to be brilliant, but there were a few techniques that they could learn, and they could take on some of the masters!!!   Mondrian was a great artist to work on, as was Picasso, Van Gogh,  Monet, and Jackson Pollock.

For me, one of my favourite past-times is to try my hand at watercolour work, now that does not mean to say that I am particularly brilliant at it.. like everyone else, I look at some of the work of the masters and wonder at their  brilliance… still I love to have a go, and find the hobby to be very absorbing.  I have also been to all the places that I have painted, so the pictures access some lovely memories.
